Who benefits most from eliminating unwanted pregnancies? Mostly men who are let off the hook for child support and marriage. What can we do to PREVENT these pregnancies and why are there so many? Who are these girls and who is getting them pregnant? Are they being raped, sold into prostitution, incest cases, unable to get birth control, uneducated on how their bodies work, under control of extremist religious groups such as the FLDS? High school and college aged girls get the most abortions. The young woman, Norman McCorvey, who was used as a tool of politics in that legal case actually gave birth to her baby and she is against abortion. Roe V Wade was a bad law and should be overturned.I can’t get them lined up orderly, so here’s a list. There are so many thoughts in my head about this. They sometimes claim to be fighting to protect poor women who can’t afford a baby, but many are actually fighting for women’s right to sexual freedom, which is very handy for the men who also want women to have that right. Many of them are older women and others are college girls who are already using birth control. They haven’t thought much about the causes of unwanted pregnancies and are simply repeating the left’s talking points. Most of the people I see on Facebook so upset over this new ruling don’t necessarily plan to have an abortion. This makes me think this whole thing is mostly being used to make the left angry during an election year. Interestingly, abortion rates have been trending downward as access to birth control improves. Think about the possible consequences of these types of laws. These people also believe that there are too many people in the world. We live in an age where global health laws are being pushed. If we give the government the right to DENY abortion, we also give them the right to REQUIRE abortion. The church can do a lot more to help protect girls from GETTING pregnant in the first place. Using religious arguments to make abortion illegal is dangerous in a country that was built on personal responsibility. I believe that we must be careful about making laws about other people’s bodies without considering certain important details. This is not a feminist issue, it’s a freedom issue. I am against abortion, but I don’t think making laws about it is wise. I guess by the end of this you might say that I am ‘pro-choice’, but only as far as the statement that the choice should not be left up to the state. My pro-life friends might be upset with some of my thoughts, as well as my pro-choice friends. I simply want people to understand that it’s not as black and white as you might think. But it’s a very tough topic to discuss because most people have very strong and emotionally-charged opinions on the subject.
